Quotation
The repair price quoted by Console Mechanic is an estimate only, based on the information you have provided to us by email or letter. It is possible that the price to repair the unit is higher than the estimated price (for example, if the information provided was inaccurate, or if your unit has other faults). On these occasions you will be contacted via email or phone to authorise a new repair quotation.

Repair warranty
All our console repairs carry a 90 day warranty unless stated otherwise, however if the unit has liquid damaged or the console has had its manufacturers warranty seal broken the repair warranty is reduced to 30 days. In the unlikely event your unit becomes faulty within the warranty period please send or bring the unit back with a copy of the receipt. and a covering letter stating current fault (we are not liable for your costs to return the unit to us). We will investigate and respond within 3 working days. If the problem is related to the initial repair, we will carry out a further repair free of charge and return at no cost. If the unit has further problems not related to original repair or parts not replaced in previous repair we will contact you and let you make a decision with regards to the cost. We will attempt a re-repair on your unit up to 2 times after the initial repair. If after this, the unit is still faulty we will issue a refund (minus the minimum charge, postage). We will need to see the unit and make sure its faulty prior to issuing a refund.
To clarify: If you send a unit to us under the repair warranty, the cost of the postage to send the unit to us will be covered by you, however we will return the unit to you free of charge if a problem is found. If the problem is not related to the original fault or no fault is found, return postage charges will apply. Please check your manufacturer's warranty to see if you are covered before proceeding with repair.

No Fix - No Fee Policy
We make it our business to be honest with our customers. In the event that we do not possess the necessary knowledge to fix a problem, and that the item is not beyond economic repair (see below), no fee is charged for that service providing the console has not been opened. If the console has been opened previously there is a minimum £20 service charge. If a problem has been diagnosed and a solution offered, but you choose not to proceed then we feel it’s only fair for us to charge for the time spent on site up to that point. If we are unable to resolve the problem because you cannot provide us with the appropriate software, software license, serial numbers, passwords or installation disks you will be charged for the time spent on site up to that point.If you are having problems with your internet connection we will test your equipment and line, but where we are able to diagnose a fault that is due to the failings of your Internet Service Provider (ISP) you will again be charged for the time spent on site up to that point, regardless of whether the ISP accepts responsibility for the fault. We will however be happy to talk to your ISP at a technical level to demonstrate the problem to them in terms they understand, which will usually result in eventual resolution of the problem.

YLOD REPAIRS
This service is ideal for people who wish to retreive data or discs from their console. We guarantee the repair for 90 days but it is your responsibility to cover courier costs if the unit needs returning to us within this period. The PS3 YLOD is due to poor manufacture in China and the fact that the PS3 runs at too high a temperature. To PERMANENTLY fix the problem, you would need to redesign the console.

Unpaid repairs
Console Mechanic reserves the right to withhold your console until payment is received in full. Units will be held for a maximum of 30 days after they are repaired. We will make reasonable attempts to contact you by phone and email a minimum of 3 times. If you have not made payment within 30 days, the unit will be auctioned to recover our costs.

Consoles that are unrepairable
Unrepairable consoles are suject to a return delivery fee of £15.00. At our discretion we may waive the delivery charge if you give us permission to use the damaged unit for spare parts. Please be aware that during the repair process it is possible that the fault may worsen whilst carrying out the repair. If the console cannot be repaired, Console Mechanic accepts no responsibilty for this eventuality. During the repair of your games console it may be necessary to clear data stored in your console's memory. Please ensure data is backed up prior to sending your console in to us as we cannot guarantee data will be retained.

Liquid Damage Repairs
Liquid damage repairs can be very temperamental and are carried out on a “best endeavours” basis. On occasions the original fault can reappear after the unit has been repaired and sometimes the faults can even get worse after a period of time.

Accessories and Miscellaneous items
Please do not send any accessories in with repairs unless we have specifically requested them (e.g. for a power problem we may request the charger or power supply). We cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage to accessories whilst in our possession. On occasions we may ask for certain accessories to be sent in after our initial diagnosis for further testing as they may be related to the fault.

Payments
Payments are requested by email or phone. Cheque payments will be subject to a clearance delay of approximately 5 working days.
We accept Cash, Visa, Mastercard, Switch, Maestro, Solo, Visa Delta & Nochex via our online payment system.

Mistakes in bills, receipts or payments
Whilst we endeavor to ensure accuracy in all that we do, occasionally mistakes do happen. We will correct any mistakes in bills, receipts or payments as soon as possible, and no later than 30 days of agreeing to do so.

 

Copyrights & Patents
Products offered for sale by Console Mechanic may be the subject of patents, copyright or other legal protection. Console Mechanic accepts no liability for infringement of such rights. All copyrights & trademarks are acknowledged.

Delivery
Consoles which are lost damaged or delayed in the post are not the responsibility of Console Mechanic. and whilst we will assist in every way possible, this responsibility remains with our designated courier company. Please note we strongly recommend you to cover your items for loss or damage as you are solely responsible for certifying the true value of the parcels contents. If you require extra postal insurance for return delivery please state with covering letter. All repaired games consoles returned by Console Mechanic are currently only covered for the basic rate of £50.00.
 

Complaints
We have many satisfied customers, and our complaint resolution system helps us to ensure that our customers are satisfied, even when things go wrong.
If you have a complaint, please contact us either by email or by letter. Upon receipt of your complaint, we will investigate to see what went wrong so that we can resolve it to your satisfaction, and to avoid reoccurrence in the future. We undertake to:
